River Plate forward Diego Buonanotte has arrived at Malaga looking to seal his transfer to the Spanish league club.
Malaga said in a statement that the 22-year-old Argentine player passed a routine medical Thursday and will finalize the move on Friday. The length of the contract was not disclosed but Buonanotte would join from the start of the 2011-12 season.
Buonanotte has played four seasons in River Plate's topflight team and was a member of Argentina's winning Olympic team in Beijing.
Buonanotte has struggled since returning from injuries sustained in a December 2009 car crash that left three of his friends dead. Buonanotte, who broke his collarbone and suffered serious chest injuries, was cleared of involuntary manslaughter charges.
