Bundesliga side Augsburg is catering for blind and visually impaired fans through two voluntary commentators to describe the action during games.

Augsburg said in a statement Wednesday that it introduced the service following the club's promotion this season, so ''visually impaired or blind people can ... experience Augsburg's games in the Bundesliga at close quarters.''

The commentators will ''describe everything that happens on the pitch'' and help the listeners ''form their own image of the game, combining with the stadium atmosphere to create a vivid impression of the match.''

Nine places are available for visually impaired fans each of Augsburg's home games, including one reserved for a visiting fan.
