The Black Cats not only landed an out-and-out winger when they persuaded the 26-year-old Sweden international to head for the Stadium of Light from Birmingham, but a man who could help them finally make the most of their set-pieces. It was from Larsson's fifth-minute corner that Titus Bramble opened the scoring in a 4-0 rout of Stoke at the weekend, and the Swede's own free-kick completed the scoring. Bruce said: "We knew when we brought Seb here that we needed to improve on set-pieces. For the two years I have been here, we haven't had anybody who's a so-called specialist. "It's vitally important in today's game. How often do we see it? Take Stoke, for example - how often do we see it that a game can be won on a set-piece? "We needed to improve there and certainly Seb has done that."
