Brown likes look of 'hungry' Zaki

Hull know they must take something from the contest if they are to steer clear of trouble this season. It is imperative they take points from those sides in and around them at the foot of the table, and Brown accepts as much. With that in mind, he is hoping that Egyptian hitman Zaki, who has signed on loan for the remainder of the season, will be ready to make his KC Stadium bow against Mick McCarthy's side. "He certainly looks hungry, he's got that glint in his eye," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "There seems to be that fire in the belly that we saw when he first came into English football with Wigan last season, and that's the Amr Zaki that we want to see. "He'll be training all week and he'll probably be pushing for a place on the bench." He added: "He met up with his team-mates on Friday and he's looked sharp. "He knows what it takes to be a success in the Premier League and he knows what it takes to score goals at this level. "But getting up to the pace of the Premier League will be difficult and it might need us to introduce him from the bench to begin with until he gets up to speed again." While Brown is ready to let Zaki off his leash, he admits he is taking a more cautious approach with Jimmy Bullard. The talismanic midfielder is closing in on a return to full fitness after a knee ligament injury, but the Tigers will not be rushing him back into action. "Jimmy has been out and about on the training ground this week with the physio," said Brown. "It's still too early to say what will happen. We'll take each day as it comes and make a decision later in the week. "It's worth keeping in mind that there's still 16 games left this season and we're not in the habit of taking risks on players. "We're keeping a close eye on him and as we saw during his last comeback from injury, his fitness levels were astounding. "We're all desperate to see Jimmy back in the team as soon as possible but we can't make it too early."
