Terry Brown praised his struggling AFC Wimbledon side after they recovered to draw 2-2 with Dagenham & Redbridge at Kingsmeadow.
The hosts fell behind to a Michael Spillane header after Dwight Gale had seen his early penalty saved by Dons keeper Seb Brown, but they took the lead courtesy of first-half goals from Jack Midson and Byron Harrison before Luke Howell equalised.
But Brown was delighted with the effort of his players as they hung on for the result in the second half.
Brown said: "I can't say I'm happy with the performance but I'm happy with a well-earned point. It was very hard work in the second half. They had the better of it and created chances that we did well to defend.
"I'm very pleased with the first-half performance. The crowd got us up for it and we played some smashing stuff. The second half was relentless pressure and credit to Dagenham. Their midfield dominated and we have to look at improving there.
"When you get spanked by five and six and given some of the defensive displays we have I'd be wanting some answers quick if I was a punter. That's football and I accept that. We're not back on track yet. There's a lot of work to do and we need to start keeping some clean sheets."
