Bruno Grougi scored two goals and made the other two as Brest beat Lens 4-1 in a rearranged French league game to go level on points with leader Marseille on Tuesday.
Romain Poyet and Paul Baysse scored Brest's other goals while Brazilian striker Eduardo pulled one back for 19th-placed Lens.
The teams first met Saturday but the match was abandoned at halftime because of heavy snow.
Defending champion Marseille thrashed Montpellier 4-0 on Saturday to top the standings on goal difference with 25 points from 14 games.
Lille and Brest also have 25 points but have played one more match than Marseille, which hosts Rennes at Stade Velodrome on Wednesday in a postponed game.
Poyet put his team in front with a glancing header in the 11th minute after Grougi found him at the near post with a precise free kick.
Lens' Brazilian forward Eduardo thought he had scored seven minutes later when he beat goalkeeper Steeve Elana with a curled right-footed shot but referee Damien Ledentu disallowed the goal for an offside position.
One minute later, Grougi picked the unmarked Baysse in the box with a corner and the defender struck from close range with a powerful shot.
Eduardo pulled one back on the stroke of halftime with a low cross shot after evading a challenge from defender Moise Brou Apanga.
Grougi scored his team's third from a rebound in the 65th minute after former Lens striker Nolan Roux had sent his 30-meter shot between the crossbar and the post. He then capped his team's brilliant attacking display by meeting Roux's perfect cross at the penalty spot with a powerful header in the 81st minute.
