Werder Bremen has signed midfielder Cedrick Makiadi from Bundesliga rival Freiburg.
Bremen says the 29-year-old Makiadi has signed a three-year deal through June, 2016, reuniting him with former Freiburg coach Robin Dutt.
Dutt left his post as the German Football Federation's director of sports to become Bremen's new coach on Monday.
