Bramble demands Latics consistency

The Latics have followed up their recent impressive win over Liverpool with two defeats on the trot to leave them nervously looking over their shoulders at the relegation trapdoor. Bramble has now demanded Wigan stand up and be counted in the final eight games of the campaign to stave off the threat of relegation. "People say it's a funny old game, but we can't keep going like this," Bramble told the Wigan Observer. "We have to sort ourselves out because, at the moment, you just don't know which team is going to turn up from one week to the next. "No-one is doubting the ability we have got in the squad, but the inconsistency is really hurting us and stopping us reaching our potential. "You can't really blame the number of new players we have brought in all season, because we have all had a lot of time to gel together. "I honestly don't know what to put it down to. If we could put our finger on it, we wouldn't be in this situation. "We have some great players with a lot of ability, but ability counts for nothing if you're not prepared to battle as well."
