An explosive device has caused minor damage to the residence of a high-ranking official of River Plate, the famed Argentine club whose demotion to the second division set off rioting last week.
No injuries were reported.
Police said the bomb, which went off early Wednesday, damaged the door and entry area to the residence of Daniel Mancusi, a member of the River Plate board of directors and a supporter of club president Daniel Passarella.
Hundreds of hooligans fought with police and set fires - inside and outside the stadium - following River Plate's relegation last Sunday. The debt-ridden club has won more championships than any team in the country.
