Birmingham loan star David Bentley is confident they are strong enough to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

Bentley, who is on loan at St Andrews from Spurs until the end of the season, believes there is enough quality in the Blues squad to stay up.

The England international admits he is enjoying his time at St Andrews after finding himself frozen out of things at White Hart Lane.

"We've got more than enough to stay up. The ability is here and we've got some good technical players," Bentley told The Mirror. "We're a fit team but we have two massive home games coming up.

"We need to go out there and battle for the three points because they are so precious at this level. There's a very positive mental attitude here that's really good to be a part of.

"To come in and play is great. The lads have made me feel welcome, as have the management and all the fans.

"It's the kind of dressing room I like to be involved in, there are some good characters in there.

"I am really enjoying it and we showed the kind of spirit we need to get a result at West Ham and hopefully it has set us up for Saturday."
