France coach Laurent Blanc has criticized the differing punishments imposed on five players for their involvement in the strike at the World Cup and challenged the French Football Federation to provide evidence of their leading role.

Blanc told French television on Sunday that he is "a bit skeptical" over the sanctions imposed Tuesday and wants "to have it explained to me" as "it was a collective decision" to strike.

All 23 France players boycotted a training session in South Africa to protest Nicolas Anelka's expulsion after he insulted then-coach Raymond Domenech during a 2-0 loss to Mexico.

Nicolas Anelka was suspended for 18 games, Patrice Evra for five, Franck Ribery for three and Jeremy Toulalan for one. Eric Abidal escaped a ban.
