Blanc confirms PSG defender Luiz has been ruled out for a month

Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz has been ruled out for four weeks with a thigh injury, manager Laurent Blanc has confirmed.

The former Chelsea center-back will miss a month of vital action for the French champions, including the French Cup final, league cup semi-final, and both legs of the Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona.

Furthermore, PSG are embroiled in a battle at the top of Ligue 1, and lead rivals Lyon by just one point.

The Brazilian picked up his thigh injury during PSG's important win over Marseille on Sunday, and was substituted after just 34 minutes.

Luiz has been a mainstay in the French champions' team this season, making 39 appearances in all competitions.
