Blackburn draws 1-1 with Aston Villa in EPL

David Dunn's late equalizer gave Blackburn a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday and a valuable point in its battle against relegation.
Villa took the lead in the 24th minute through Charles N'Zogbia's shot, but Dunn leveled when he headed in at the far post in the 85th from Bradley Orr's cross. Villa goalkeeper Shay Given got a hand to the ball but failed to keep it out.
Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson then had to dive low to his left to turn a shot from Barry Bannan around the post to keep the scores level.
Blackburn are in 18th place, one point away from safety, while Aston Villa are now 11 points clear of the drop zone.
Villa dominated early and nearly grabbed the lead in the fourth minute through Marc Albrighton.
N'Zogbia picked up the ball deep in the Rovers box and laid the ball back to the midfielder, who lashed his shot over the bar from eight yards.
Instead, Villa went ahead when Carlos Cuellar threaded the ball to N'Zogbia in the box and he slammed a left-foot shot past Robinson into the roof of the net.
N'Zogbia almost grabbed his second in the 44th when he struck a low, close-range shot which was superbly tipped away by Robinson.
Rovers looked brighter after the restart and came close to an equalizer in the 46th when Martin Olsson's low cross from the left just eluded Ayegbeni Yakubu in front of goal.
The home side had another chance in the 55th when Steven Nzonzi headed across the box and Dann jumped to direct another header onto the roof of the net.
Villa came close to extending their lead in the 79th when Robinson got down well to palm away Gabriel Agbonlahor's header from a Warnock cross.
But Rovers grabbed the equalizer their second half performance deserved when Orr floated in a ball from the right and substitute Dunn headed past Given at point-blank range.
