Blackburn boosted its hopes of surviving relegation from the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Norwich on Saturday.

Mauro Formica opened the scoring in the 41st minute and Canadian forward Junior Hoilett added another with a stunning 30-yard (meter) strike four minutes after halftime, allowing Rovers to climb above Bolton into third to-last place.

Blackburn remains in the relegation zone but is within striking distance of safety with three matches left.

Steve Kean's side has a tough run-in, however, with away games at Champions League-chasing Tottenham and Chelsea as well as a home match at revitalized Wigan.
