Notts County captain Neal Bishop has played down reports he may leave Meadow Lane in the summer.

Speculation regarding Bishop's future has increased recently, with the 31-year-old midfielder being linked with a handful of Championship clubs.

However, the Magpies' current longest-serving player insists he has no plans to depart.

"As far as I'm concerned, I've got another year on my contract here which I signed two years ago," Bishop told the club's official website.

"I was more than happy to do that, if I played a certain amount of games this season it kicked in.

"Obviously the situation here is a bit up in the air with other players being out of deals and not knowing who's going to be in charge next season, although we'd all love it to be Chris (Kiwomya).

"We owe Chris a few performances to help him stake a claim for the job but my situation is that I've got a contract until next season. Unless someone tells me otherwise, that's where we are."

Meanwhile, Magpies goalkeeper Liam Mitchell has rejoined Tamworth on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of the 2010/11 season with the Lambs.
