Coach Georges Leekens will take charge of the Belgian national team for the second time in his career.

The Belgian federation ended its search to replace Dick Advocaat when it reached a commitment Monday with the coach who led the Red Devils at the 1998 World Cup in France. Belgium was eliminated in the first round and Leekens left soon afterward.

The 60-year-old was successful as coach of KV Kortrijk this season, unexpectedly leading the club into the playoffs for the league title.

Advocaat quit Belgium on April 15 and is finalizing a deal to take over Russia.
