The 27-year-old Czech international, who has been recovering from a hernia operation, returned to action during Albion's 3-0 pre-season friendly win, and capped his comeback by netting the second goal. And while admitting he still has work to do, Bednar says he was delighted to get back on the pitch. "It's fine after the operation. Everything is cool and I am working hard," Bednar told West Brom's official website. "I want to be really ready and there are a lot of hard days in front of us but it was nice to play a game." Bednar, who underwent surgery after helping the Baggies land their return to the Premier League in May, knows he faces a hard slog ahead of Albion's first game of the season at Chelsea on August 14. "I need to get through all five weeks without injury and I always think it's more a mental thing in pre-season because it's hard," he said. "I did a little bit over the summer but now we have four more weeks of really hard work and I think that will be enough because of the way we train now. "If the guys stay fit and don't get injured we will be ready for the Premier League."
