Bayern Munich have signed goalkeeper Sven Ulreich from Stuttgart on a three-year deal.
Despite having Manuel Neuer as their established number one, the Bundesliga champions have added to their reserves with the signing of the 26-year-old.
The move casts doubt over the future of Jose Reina at Bayern, though. The former Liverpool keeper was Neuer's understudy but a move away from Munich now looks a distinct possibility.
"I have searched for many years for a new challenge," Ulreich said on Bayern's official website.
"Bayern is exactly the right place. I am looking forward to the whole team and the new things that will happen to me.
"I want to do my part to get success and will always be there when I am needed."
Ulreich will start his stint with Bayern on July 1.
"We are very pleased that we are able to sign an experienced Bundesliga goalkeeper," deputy chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen said.
"He fits not only athletically but in character for Bayern Munich. We are happy that he has chosen us."
