Bayern look to continue dominance

Bayern are hoping their recent form can push them past a difficult Champions League matchup
With five wins out of five in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich have been in immaculate form in recent times. Dating back to their August 14th win against Dortmund, Bayern have conceded just one goal in their last eight matches. A truly staggering statistic, coupled with the fact they have 27 goals in that same time shows why they are so hard to beat.
They are often seen as the favorites in every match they play, but their upcoming match against Atletico Madrid is different. Madrid have been just as solid as Bayern has defensively. They have just two goals in La Liga matches so far.
Atletico’s defensive style of play combined with their fantastic counter attacking ability is a true test for any opponent. They often sit back and wait for their opponent to overcommit players, then hit them hard and fast on the counter.
Atletico star Antoine Griezmann has again been a goal scoring machine, and is sure to be a threat for Bayern Munich’s defense. The teams met last year in the Champions League semi-final, with Atletico ultimately winning 2-2 on aggregate due to the away goals rule. Griezmann scored in that tie, and hopes to repeat that feat in their upcoming matchup.
Bayern are sure to field a strong lineup as always. There is always a stir when manager Carlo Ancelotti releases his starting 11. Bayern has a ton of talent, both in youth and experience terms. There will always be someone left out that would normally start on another team.
Often times, players have to play out of position to accommodate the other players on the field. This has not proved to be a problem so far, but with the strength of squad that Atletico brings to the match, Bayern will need to field their strongest players at each position to ensure victory.
The match between Bayern and Atletico will take place on September 28th, with Atletico set to host first. The second time these two meet won’t take place until December 6th, which will be the last match in the group stage round of Champions League.
Both matches are sure to be tight contests that bring the best out of both clubs. The matchups could be the difference between winning the group and finishing second, so there is no doubt both clubs will field their strongest 11 in each game.
