Bastian Schweinsteiger scored both goals as holder Bayern Munich rallied from a goal down to beat Werder Bremen 2-1 in the second round of the German Cup on Tuesday in a repeat of last season's final.
Bayern fell behind after only two minutes, when Claudio Pizarro found the net. Schweinsteiger equalized in the 27th minute and then sealed the victory with a stunning shot from 30 meters (yards) in the 74th.
Bremen reached the German Cup final two years in a row and lost last year's final 4-0 to Bayern. Bremen missed a handful of good chances before Schweinsteiger scored the winner.
Schalke also advanced to the third round by winning 1-0 at second division FSV Frankfurt.
