The Cameroon defender has found himself behind Ledley King, William Gallas, Michael Dawson and Younes Kabul, and has made only five appearances - just one as a start - in the Premier League this season as a result.
"Whether I stay or I go, we must find a solution," he told L'Equipe. "I need to play.
"The manager and the chairman, they understand my position. But football is a business."
