Barca tell Arsenal: Let's talk about Cesc

Txiki Begiristain has welcomed the news that Cesc Fabregas would
like to return to Barcelona - but accepts Arsenal will have the
final say.
Fabregas last week revealed his wish to return to Barca,
where he played in the youth ranks before joining Arsenal in 2003.
Barcelona sporting director Begiristain on Wednesday told
club's website: "It's great news that he wants to come here and I
think that one day Cesc will have to come to Barca.
"But what matters is Arsenal and what their decision is.
"They think he is a very important player for them.
"We have to respect that.
"At times the wishes of players do not come true because they
are under contract.
"That he says that he wants to come to Barca is a synonym
that things are being done well here.
"I don't know when but I have the impression that he is a
Barca (style) player and that he will enjoy it very much.
"I wish it was as soon as possible.
"But we have to respect Arsenal's wishes and the contract he
has."
The 23-year-old is under contract at Arsenal until June 2014
and Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood has warned Barca they have "no
intention" of selling their captain this summer.
"We are not remotely interested in selling him," he told the
Daily Star.
It is claimed that the creative midfielder has already
informed Arsene Wenger of his wishes and hopes the French coach
will grant him the opportunity to seal a dream move to Camp Nou.
Fabregas began his career in the youth ranks at Barcelona,
before being snapped up by Arsenal while still in his teens.
He quickly progressed into the first-time fold with the
Gunners and has been a regular part of Wenger's plans for the last
six years.
Speculation regarding a return his roots has been building
for some time, though, with the 23-year-old admitting he would
relish the opportunity to turn out for Barcelona at some stage.
It appears that time has come, with Fabregas revealing that
the prospect of winning major trophies in Catalunya would be too
good to turn down should Barca make their move.
Having opened the door to Pep Guardiola's side, it is
expected to be only a matter of time before Arsenal's resolve is
tested with a big money bid.
For now, though, the Gunners maintain that they have no
desire to listen to offers for their skipper, with Hill-Wood
attempting to reassure the club's supporters by insisting that
Fabregas is not for sale.
