Gareth Bale is not interested in leaving Real Madrid for Manchester United in a stunning swap deal with Angel Di Maria, according to his representative David Manasseh.

The 25-year-old forward impressed in his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring 22 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions, including crucial strikes in the Champions League and Copa del Rey finals.

However, Bale has been struggling to replicate that form in 2014-15 and recent rumours claimed that Madrid were interested in an outrageous player-exchange deal that would see Di Maria return to the Spanish capital from Old Trafford, with Bale moving in the opposite direction.

The Wales international's representative has laughed off such a move, though, and has insisted that Bale is happy in Spain.

"It is not true that Gareth wants to return to the Premier League," Manasseh told Calciomercato. "Everything is going well for him at Madrid and he wants to continue to wear the Real Madrid jersey.

"These rumors about a swap with United are absolute rubbish."

Bale has a contract with Madrid until the summer of 2019.
