Auxerre ended their torrid run of form after they beat Toulouse in their Ligue 1 clash at Stade de l'Abbe-Deschamps.

Teenager Yaya Sanogo scored his first Ligue 1 goal before Roy Contout sealed the win two minutes before the final whistle.

The win is Auxerre's first in five league games and moves them up a place into 12th while Toulouse remain in fifth place, level on points with Lyon and six behind leaders Paris St Germain.

Both sides had a couple of good chances in the first half but failed to break the stalemate.

Auxerre's Alain Traore played the ball to Cedric Hengbart who delivered a cross into the area which Dennis Oliech met with a header, but Toulouse goalkeeper Ali Ahamada made a good save.

Traore then tested Ahamada again in the 20th minute, forcing him to gather the ball at the second attempt as the home side almost went in front.

It was then Toulouse's turn to go close when Moussa Sissoko played the ball to Pavel Ninkov on the right who fired in a cross but Umut Bulut failed to connect with the ball and the chance went begging.

After the break, Auxerre had a penalty shout turned down when Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro brought Kamel Chafni down in the area.

However, the home side finally broke the deadlock when 18-year-old substitute Sanogo found the back of the net after only being on the pitch for a minute.

Chafni crossed the ball and it was cleared but only as far as Sanogo, who fired home his first ever Ligue 1 goal.

Aymen Abdennour then denied Sanogo his second four minutes later with an acrobatic clearance before Contout sealed the win two minutes from time.

The substitute midfielder fired a shot into the top corner of the net to wrap up a much-needed win.
