Austria misses 3 regulars against Ukraine, Romania

Austria will miss three key players because of injuries for next month's friendlies against Euro 2012 co-host Ukraine and Romania.
Defenders Emanuel Pogatetz and Christian Fuchs, who have knee problems, and winger Martin Harnik with a shinbone injury were missing from the 25-man squad announced by coach Marcel Koller on Tuesday.
''We want to use these matches to strengthen our defense and give away less goals,'' Koller said. ''It's important to develop our own playing style and gain confidence with World Cup qualifying starting in just a couple of months.''
Duesseldorf goalkeeper Robert Almer and Salzburg midfielder Jakob Jantscher, who are recovering from injuries, were included but are doubtful, while defender Franz Schiemer is skipping both matches as he will get married on the day of the Ukraine game, Koller said.
He called up `keeper Lukas Koenigshofer from Rapid Vienna and 18-year-old striker Marcel Sabitzer from Admira for the first time.
Austria, which failed to qualify for the European Championship, plays Ukraine in Innsbruck on June 1 then Romania at the same venue four days later.
