Jo scored the only goal as Atletico Mineiro went top of the Campeonato Brasileiro with a 1-0 win at Gremio.

Jo's goal in the 26th minute was enough to lift the side led by former Barcelona star Ronaldinho above Vasco da Gama at the summit.

Gremio had Anderson Pico sent off seven minutes from the end.

Indio's strike in the 63rd minute rescued a point for Internacional in a 1-1 draw at Bahia.

Gabriel had opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time against Inter, who could have gone fourth with a win.

Santos' struggles continued as they could only draw 0-0 at Portuguesa.

Goals from Adalberto Roman, Hernan Barcos and Maikon Leite saw Palmeiras come from behind for a 3-1 win over Figueirense, who had opened the scoring through Julio Cesar.

Flamengo and Sport Recife both claimed 3-2 wins, over Atletico Goianiense and Coritiba respectively.

Renato Abreu scored twice for Flamengo, while Felipe Azevedo got Sport's winner three minutes from the end.
