Spanish Primera Liga club Atletico Madrid has fired coach Abel Resino.
The team announced the decision in a brief statement on its Web site on Friday.
Atletico has won only one of its past 10 games and lies in 15th place in the Spanish league.
A 4-0 Champions League defeat at Chelsea on Wednesday left Atletico in last place in Group D.
Resino had been coach since February, when he replaced Javier Aguirre.
