Robin van Persie will be the centre of attention against his former club when Premier League champions Manchester United make the trip to Arsenal on Sunday.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud starts a three-match ban following his late red card against Fulham.

Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski are both pressing for a central attacking role as the Gunners chase as top-four finish.

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski (rib) remains sidelined, while midfielder Abou Diaby (knee) is a long-term absentee.

United are expected to recall Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic to the heart of their defence for the trip to Emirates Stadium.

Jonny Evans and Phil Jones started at the back against Aston Villa, but Evans picked up an injury, while Jones is expected to move into midfield after Michael Carrick also suffered a knock on Monday night.

Sir Alex Ferguson has stressed he is keen for Hernandez, Welbeck, Nani and Tom Cleverley to be involved in the closing stages of the season so further changes could be made.
