Carlos Luna scored three goals Sunday as Tigre beat Boca Juniors
3-0 in the Argentine Clausura tournament.
Boca's fierce rival River Plate won 2-0 at home against
Huracan, while Rosario Central beat San Lorenzo 1-0 and Argentinos
Juniors won 1-0 at Racing Club.
Boca, which has now gone seven games without winning and is
fourth from bottom of the Clausure league table, hosts River next
Sunday in Argentina's "Super Clasico" derby match.
After nine matches, Independiente tops the standings with 20
points, two ahead of Godoy Cruz.
Luna opened the scoring for Tigre at home against Boca with a
diagonal shot from the left of the penalty area in the 11th minute.
A diving header gave Luna his second in the 44th minute and
the he completed the hat trick with a close-range shot off the
crossbar in the 78th.
Ezequiel Filippetto's own goal gave River Plate the lead
against Huracan in the second minute. Gustavo Canales headed in at
the near post to seal the win in the 76th.
Milton Caraglio scored the only goal as Rosario Central had a
home win against San Lorenzo. Both clubs are in the bottom half of
the standings.
Nicolas Pavlovich arrived at the back post to score the
winner for Argentinos Juniors at Racing Club. Argentinos goalkeeper
Luis Ojeda saved a Claudio Yacob penalty in the 88th minute.
The win moved Argentinos up to seventh position, while Racing
stayed in 14th.
