An Argentine first-division match was suspended Wednesday after explosive devices were thrown near players on the field.

Belgrano was winning the game against Independiente 1-0 before the game was suspended after the end of the first half.

The devices seemed to be thrown from the Independiente fan section in a match that was played at Independiente's stadium in Buenos Aires.

Referee Saul Laverni said it was ''impossible to continue'' without the threat of injuries. No injuries were immediately reported.
