Anichebe made his first start of the season against the Baggies after recovering from knee surgery. The 22-year-old was happy to make his long-awaited return to action after being sidelined since pre-season. "It was nice to be back. Obviously the result wasn't the best but it was good to get some minutes under my belt and hopefully that can take me a long way," Anichebe told the club's official website. "The result was a disappointment but hopefully we can pick ourselves back up and win the next game." Anichebe concedes he is still a long way off full fitness after playing for an hour against West Brom. "I felt okay at times, obviously fatigue is normal and match sharpness will come, but the result wasn't the best and the fans made that clear but we know that ourselves," added Anichebe. "We know we can do better and hopefully will do in the next game. "Any minutes I can get are only going to make me better. Last time I was injured it took me a while to really get into my stride," he added. "It was a good run-out and obviously I took it seriously and it was good to get out there."
