Nicolas Anelka opened his West Brom account with a brace in a 3-0 win over Hungarian side Puskas FC Academy on Monday.

The former France international striker, a free transfer arrival this summer, swept home the opener from six yards inside 10 minutes before heading home his second before the half-hour mark.

Chris Brunt also saw a free-kick well saved and Shane Long hit a post as Steve Clarke's men dominated before the break.

The game became disjointed after the interval following a flurry of substitutions but Graham Dorrans was able to put some gloss on the scoreline with a late penalty.
