West Ham are interested in a loan move for Liverpool striker Andy Carroll, according to reports on Wednesday.

Hammers manager Sam Allardyce appears keen to land the 23-year-old England international on a temporary deal after new Reds boss Brendan Rodgers hinted he may not be part of his future plans at Anfield.

Allardyce is looking to strengthen his squad following promotion to the Premier League and Carroll would suit his style of play.

Carroll would also be able to link up with his close friend and former Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan at Upton Park.

AC Milan are also reportedly keen on Carroll, who joined Liverpool from Newcastle for £35m 18 months ago, and Fulham have been linked with a swap deal for Clint Dempsey.

But they may all be left disappointed after a close friend of Carroll told The Sun: "There is no chance of Andy leaving Liverpool. He is staying put.

"So AC Milan can forget it and he won't be going back to Newcastle or joining West Ham either - on loan or otherwise."
