Anderson: I've let Red Devils down

Manchester United midfielder Anderson has questioned his displays
since joining the Red Devils - and insists he needs to up his goals
ratio.
The 21-year-old Brazilian, who was signed by United with Nani
for a joint fee of £35million in 2007, has only managed one
goal in 96 appearances since moving from Porto.
Anderson had a poor game in the 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Leeds
last weekend, and he admits he is desperate to find his form of
old.
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in my goal
performance at United," he said in The Sun.
"In fact it makes me sad.
"And one of my first objectives is to get back to the
condition I was in at Porto, then start scoring goals which decide
matches because that's vital for any player's career.
"I know that a footballer of my ability, who is accustomed
to playing an attacking role and is used to scoring goals
regularly, must be sad to only score a goal every six months.
"But I must not let myself feel dispirited. I need a run of
games where I'm doing well."
The Brazil international has yet to convince fans at Old
Trafford that he is the real deal, and will want to show Sir Alex
Ferguson what he thinks he is capable of.
He insists that you need a 'big heart' to succeed at United,
but is determined to prove himself where others have failed.
"Some great players haven't managed to do well at United
because it's such a demanding club," he added.
"I know you must have a big heart. It's what the guys who
have been here the longest pass on to us.
"We are trying to get into football's history books - that's
part of what makes United the way it is."
