Ancelotti looking for more from Cole

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that Joe Cole needs to
improve his confidence after recently returning from injury.
The Blues midfielder suffered a serious knee injury 12 months
ago and could not get back on the pitch until late September.
He has shown glimpses of his dazzling skill without
performing as consistently as he did before his spell on the
sidelines.
Ancelotti believes Cole can cement a place in England's World
Cup squad but feels he needs to start contributing more.
"Joe could do better," said the Blues manager.
"For him it's an important moment. He came back from the
injury and he has an important appointment to achieve this season.
"The World Cup means it's important to play well for
Chelsea.
"At this moment he has good mental attitude and good
condition but he must improve his confidence.
"For Joe, the World Cup is an important motivation. I think
he has a lot of possibility to play in the World Cup but he knows
Capello will look at his performances."
Cole's current deal expires at the end of the season and he
is yet to put pen-to-paper on an extension, although he has made it
clear he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Ancelotti has now issued an update on the contract situation,
saying: "We know he could sign for another club and we are talking
with him.
"I think Joe Cole is an important player and he knows that.
"We are confident in Joe that he wants to stay."
