Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has escaped with a verbal warning from the French Football Federation's ethics council and been told to be careful with his future comments following criticism of a referee in last month's 1-1 draw at Montpellier.

PSG sporting director Leonardo was given a suspended two-game ban for launching a tirade against French referees live on television moments after the final whistle.

Both Ancelotti and Leonardo were unhappy with the red card shown to center half Mamadou Sakho early in the game, also claiming that PSG has been unfairly treated by officials this season.

Big-spending PSG is in second place in the French league, five points behind Lyon. They meet at Parc des Princes on Sunday.
