Ameobi out to reward Toon fans

Newcastle are currently 10th in the Premier League but will need more wins over their final nine games in a tight table which sees them two points behind Sunderland but only five ahead of third-bottom West Ham. The Magpies were beaten 2-1 by Everton last time out at St James' Park and face a difficult trip to Stoke next weekend. Ameobi, though, is looking up rather than down. He told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle: "It was a disappointing day against Everton, but we can't let that get us down - our season can't end here and now. "We've got four home games to go, and we have to look to give our fans a great finish to the season - that's the least they are owed. "Four wins would be fantastic, and we know we've got enough quality to keep plodding on. "We've got a never-say-die mentality here, and that's what has held us in good stead, not just at home, but away too. "The next game at Stoke's going to be tough, but we'll go there looking to win the game. "I think that positive attitude can only hold us in good stead."
