Algeria, Slovenia select expected teams for opener
The starting lineups from Algeria and Slovenia for their World Cup opener Sunday contained no surprises, with Algerian defender Anther Yahia appointed captain to replace the dropped Yazid Mansour.
Algeria coach Rabah Saadane brought in midfielder Medhi Lacen for Mansour.
Injury-free Slovenia selected probably its strongest lineup, featuring midfielder Robert Koren and striker Milivoje Novakovic.
Algeria and Slovenia are in Group C with England and the United States, who drew 1-1 on Saturday.
