Chelsea defender Alex has been sidelined for three weeks with a thigh injury, ruling him out of Brazil's friendlies against Iran and Ukraine.
Alex was injured in the closing minutes of Sunday's 2-0 victory over Arsenal after scoring Chelsea's second goal.
Following a medical examination, Chelsea announced Tuesday that ''it is estimated he will be out for three weeks.''
Brazil plays Iran on Thursday in Abu Dhabi and Ukraine in the English city of Derby on Monday.
