Agent cools Forlan's Turkey talk

Diego Forlan's agent has rubbished claims that the Atletico Madrid striker has reached a deal to join Besiktas in the summer.

Reports in the Turkish media have indicated the Uruguay star, who turns 32 on Thursday, has agreed a move to the Istanbul giants at the end of the season.

Forlan - a long-term target for Tottenham - has plummeted down the pecking order at Atletico has prompted such rumours, with the hitman having not started a Primera Liga game since mid-March.

He has fallen out of favour with Atletico coach Quique Sanchez Flores, who has confirmed the former Manchester United man will leave the Spanish club at the end of the season.

But Forlan's agent, Daniel Bolotnikoff, insists nothing has yet been decided over the player's future.

"The reports from Turkey aren't true and right now there are no open negotiations with Besiktas," Bolotnikoff told AS.

"Diego is not going to finalise his future until the end of the league season."

Forlan, who spent between 2001-04 at Old Trafford, was voted the best player at last year's World Cup after scoring five goals to help Uruguay to a fourth-placed finish.
