After being reduced to tears in the final minutes of AS Roma's loss to Brescia because of the pain from an injury, goalkeeper Julio Sergio has been diagnosed with ligament damage in his right ankle and could miss a month.
With Roma already having used all three of its substitutions in Wednesday's match, Julio Sergio was forced to play on despite suffering in visible pain.
Medical tests Thursday revealed the extent of the injury, which will keep the Brazilian out of the game against European champion Inter Milan on Saturday.
Romanian backup Bogdan Lobont will likely play against Inter and Cluj in the Champions League next week.
