Striker Adriano says he will remain at Roma in 2011, frustrating Palmeiras and Corinthians' hopes of signing him.

Adriano told the Globo TV Network that he had been unhappy at Roma because "I was not playing."

But Roma president Rosella Sensi has convinced him he will soon have more playing opportunities.

"I will be returning to Roma. There is no way for me to leave now," Adriano said.

He spoke Wednesday during the inauguration of a social inclusion project at the Vila Cruzeiro slum where he spent part of his childhood.

The slum was one of two shanty towns occupied by police last month to drive out drug gangs in an effort to help make Rio safer for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics.
