The visitors took the lead on the half-hour through Gerald Sibon, but then lost Darryl Janmaat to a second yellow card on the stroke of half-time. That gave ADO a way back into the contest, although it took until the 79th minute for substitute Wesley Verhoek to equalise. Bogdan Milic then added a second two minutes later to move ADO one point above Willem II. NEC Nijmegen also leapfrogged Willem II thanks to their last-gasp 1-0 victory at home to fellow strugglers Sparta Rotterdam. Saidi Ntibazonkiza scored the only goal in the dying seconds to move NEC above their opponents on goal difference. A 56th-minute strike from Tim Matavz earned FC Groningen a 1-0 victroy at defending champions AZ Alkmaar, while NAC Breda ran out 2-0 winners over VVV Venlo courtesy of goals from Patrick Zwaanswijk (41) and Anthony Lurling (74).
