AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been banned for three of his team's remaining six games in the Italian league for insulting a linesman.
The Swede drew a red card in the 87th minute of Milan's 2-1 win over Fiorentina on Sunday. Ibrahimovic says he was angry with himself, adding: ''If I offended anyone I'm sorry.''
Part of Monday's ban stems from accumulated cards. Ibrahimovic was returning from a two-game ban for punching an opponent. That ban was reduced from three to two matches on appeal, and Milan says it will appeal this ban.
Milan was eliminated by Tottenham in the round 16 of the Champions League and much of the blame was placed on Ibrahimovic's inability to score.
