Zenyatta, the 2010 Horse of the Year, is in foal again after her first pregnancy ended prematurely, according to a posting Tuesday on the champion mare's official website.

The only female ever to win the Breeders' Cup Classic was confirmed to be pregnant after a second mating with Bernardini, the champion 3-year-old of 2006.

"YES, I am eating for TWO!," wrote Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs as part of a regular diary on the website written in the voice of Zenyatta.

"As of this morning, I have had what is technically called my '60-day check-up.' I am happily IN FOAL! All is A-OK! My pregnancy is progressing nicely and the baby has a very strong heartbeat!"

The news drew more than 265 responses from fans of the beloved horse.

Ingordo-Shirreffs is a longtime adviser to Jerry and Ann Moss, Zenyatta's owners, and the wife of Zenyatta's former trainer John Shirreffs.

Zenyatta, sired by Street Cry, was first paired with Bernardini in February but failed to maintain the pregnancy. A second mating reportedly took place April 2.

Zenyatta, now stabled at Lane's End Farm near Lexington, Ky., won the first 19 starts of her brilliant career, including the 2009 Breeders' Cup Classic. Her only loss came in her final race last November when she was beaten by a head by Blame in the Classic at Churchill Downs.
