STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) The WWE Network has hit the 1 million mark in subscribers, 11 months after its launch.

The latest subscriber information was released Tuesday and the numbers represent a 37-percent increase in subscribers since the 2014 third quarter report. The total got a boost from a free November promotion, the launch of the service in England and significant additions for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

The network airs original content, classic events, reality shows, documentaries and other forms of around-the-clock programming.

Last year, WWE's chief strategy and financial officer George Barrios said if the WWE could average 1.5 million subscribers in 2015, the company based in Stamford, Connecticut, would expect a profit of $100 to $120 million from the $9.99 per month fee.
