BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) Houston Scarborough, believed to be the first winless team to make the Texas high school football playoffs, lost to West Orange-Stark 64-0 in a game that went to a running clock in the first quarter Thursday night.

The Spartans, who finished 0-11, had just 1 yard of offense and picked up their only first down on the final play of the game as their losing streak reached 58 games.

Officials went to a running clock with West Orange-Stark (9-2) leading 35-0.

Scarborough made the playoffs because there only four football-playing schools in its district, and four teams make the playoffs in each district in most of the state's six classifications.
