Nike announced today that Arizona will wear a newly designed Nike Hyper Elite Platinum uniform for its Feb. 25 home game against UCLA.
The uniform, which will be worn for one game only, will be platinum colored, with the word 'Zona across the chest.
Either other Nike-sponsored university teams will unveil one-time-only Hyper Elite Platinum duds over the next month: Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Syracuse, North Carolina, Connecticut men and women and Baylor women.
According to a Nike press relsease, the uniforms are designed specifically for "superior performance and lower environmental impact."
The shorts are made of 100 percent recycled polyester, the jerseys of 96 percent recycled polyester, and both are 5 percent lighter than previous uniforms.
