The Minnesota Wild's attempt at a fourth straight postseason appearance will begin on the road.

Minnesota opens the 2015 season on Oct. 8 at Colorado before hosting the St. Louis Blues in the home opener on Oct. 10. The Wild will open with 11 of their first 12 games against Western Conference opponents, including six within the Central Division.

The highlight of the regular-season schedule is the already announced 2016 Stadium Series game in which Minnesota hosts the Chicago Blackhawks in an outdoor game at the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium on Feb. 21. The season will conclude with two home games against San Jose and Calgary, respectively.

In the Central Division, the Wild will play five games against Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, St. Louis and Winnipeg, with four games against Nashville. The five games are split, with Minnesota holding the extra home game against Chicago, Dallas and Winnipeg.

Facing each of the Pacific Division teams three times, the Wild have the added home game against Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, all former division rivals before conference realignment.

The longest homestand for Minnesota is four games, occurring twice next season. The Wild have three season-high, four-game road trips. They're scheduled for 15 sets of back-to-back games after having 13 such occasions last season.

According to webflyer.com, Minnesota will travel an estimated 42,416 miles during the season.
