Wild open season Saturday vs. Colorado
The Minnesota Wild have released their schedule for the abbreviated 48-game 2013 season. Minnesota will open with an 8 p.m. Saturday home game against the Colorado Avalanche -- a game that will serve as the nightcap to Hockey Day Minnesota, presented by Wells Fargo.
The 2013 season will feature 24 home games for the Wild, including four three-game homestands. The first of those homestands starts the season -- beginning with the Avalanche and then Sunday against the Stars and Tuesday against the Predators. Conversely, Minnesota also will have three three-game road trips and will play nine back-to-backs this season.
Minnesota will play 18 games against its Northwest Division foes, including five games against Calgary. Additionally, the Wild will play the remaining members of the Western Conference three times each. There will be no regular-season games against the Eastern Conference.
Minnesota's home slate will be highlighted by contests against the defending Stanley Cup champion, Los Angeles (March 30 and April 23), former rival Chicago (Jan. 30 and April 9), Detroit (Feb. 17) and St. Louis (April 1 and April 11). The Wild's 2013 home schedule features 11 weekend games.
